Our Story

Artisan Foods Ltd is a distributor of fresh, seasonal produce and artisan ingredients to the catering industry in Dublin and throughout Ireland. Based in Parkwest, we are strategically positioned twenty minutes from the city centre and close to all major national arteries.

Our aim is to supply the finest seasonal ingredients, backed up by a huge range of individually sourced larder items, from everyday kitchen products to the new or unusual. We are passionate about food and have a reputation for delivering produce of the highest quality and freshness, to meet the standards demanded by our customers. Since 1998 we have been working with many of the best chefs and kitchens around the country. From our beginnings as a specialist in top quality ingredients from France we have grown to offer a comprehensive range of Irish and European ingredients and produce and our experienced team have a real understanding of fine dining needs.

Integral to our working practice is communication; we listen to our customer’s needs and always seek feedback on our service and quality of produce. We know each customer is unique and we deliver tailor-made solutions for all our customer’s requirements. In addition to communicating directly with our customers we publish a regular market report with seasonal recommendations, alongside posting regular updates and current availability through social media like our Facebook and Twitter page. Through our wide network of suppliers and producers we strive to keep our customers informed of the latest culinary trends and product innovations.

HACCP

We operate a fully integrated HACCP system which allows us to trace and identify products, all of which comes from an EU approved source. Every product is personally checked for quality upon receipt and then again before being delivered to our customers.

OUR LOGO

We receive loads of enquiries about our unusual and distinct logo! It features an interpretation of an actual handprint stencil taken from a prehistoric painting at the Chauvet Cave in France, and is thought to have be painted 32,000 years ago. The Paleolithic artist used the technology of his day, tinted charcoal dust blown through a straw, and the image is known to be the oldest portrait of man. This ancient art represents many values to us, including hand crafted, artisan, culture, history and tradition. We chose this symbol because Artisan Foods are deeply committed to these same values. Our origins as a company lie in being specialised in French cuisine and sourcing French produce. Although this has broadened as we have grown we have many years’ experience supplying top quality French product to our loyal customers in Ireland.
